      <title>Healthtalk: Understanding Alzheimer's Disease</title>
      <description>
        Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia were the topic during a Healthtalk presentation at Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center. Tom Gabert M.D., Internal Medicine, began the presentation from his perspective as a primary care physician and defining dementia. Mary Forester, D.O., Neurology, followed Gabert to discuss the testing methods used to arrive at a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. Forester continued by discussing what interventions have proven to stall the progression of Alzheimer’s type dementia. Strategies to help care givers cope and manage patients who are suffering from dementia were addressed by Gabert and Julie St. Pierre from the Alzheimer’s Association.

          <title>Marshfield Clinic staff discuss childhood obesity trends</title>
          <description>
              "Weighs" to help your kids; is a presentation about strategies families can take to help fight the increasing population of children that are considered obese or borderline obese. During the program you will learn the deference between obesity and overweight and how the two terms are sometimes used interchangeably.

              Jay Halminiak recommends exercise and activity levels for kids to help build lean muscle and strong bones. He also suggests numerous strategies you and your kids can take to become more active. Jamie Meyer follows Jay with a discussion about proper nutritional needs for young growing children. She provides an in depth look at the new food pyramid, which has changed dramatically over the last few years. She will also give you concrete examples on why making healthy food choices at meal times and snack times has a tremendous impact on fighting childhood obesity.

      <title>Bariatric surgery at Marshfield Clinic</title>
      <description>There's no debate that obesity in America is a serious problem. Scan the bookstores, newspapers, TV and radio stations and you're sure to find mention of the problem almost as frequently as you'll find a proposed solution. For many who are affected by this chronic illness simply dieting to get to a healthy weight doesn't work. Bariatric or gastric bypass surgery is a tool that can assist a patient in getting to a healthy weight. The results speak for themselves.</description>
