About WiSSP(ers)

Through the years the Wisconsin Stillbirth Service Program has continually made efforts both to provide educational forums to the many health care providers who work with us to serve families of stillborn infants and to increase communication between our office and participating hospitals. We hope with this first issue of our official newsletter, WiSSPers, to be able to expand our educational mission in ways that you will find valuable.

Every issue will contain articles of direct relevance to nurses and physicians who work with bereaved parents:

•an IN DEPTH review of a specific topic related to stillbirth

•summaries of recently published articles in professional journals (IN THE LIT)

•a guest article (GUEST CORNER) from an expert in the field

•a review of selected parent resources (FROM THE LENDING LIBRARY)

•a biography of an individual important to our efforts (PERSONAL PORTRAITS)

•comments from our readers (RSVP)

and more.

•ABOUT WiSSP will be a regular department devoted to updates and other information about WiSSP activities.

We hope you take the time to read this issue and let us know what you think. Are there any specific topics you would like to see addressed? Any resources you found particularly helpful? Any experts you would like to hear from?

Each WiSSP participating hospital will automatically receive a copy of WiSSPers. If you are not a designated stillbirth contact and would like to continue receiving future issues, please fill out the form on page 11 and return it to the WiSSP office.

We are excited about WiSSPers, and hope you will find it informative and useful. We welcome this new communication channel with old and new friends and look forward to hearing from each of you.
